REPORTING
SPAM
Winchester
Arts Management does not endorse or engage in mass mailing of any
kind and has a strict policy against such activity.
Unfortunately,
one practice by unscrupulous spammers is to "forge" email
addresses that belong to others. Winchester Arts Management is in
no way affiliated with mass mailing including unauthorized third
party mass mailing, or with any professionals, products or services
"marketed" in such emails.
Why report it? Reporting it helps site administrators
like WAM combat spam ... because 95% of email traffic worldwide
is spam, wasting countless resources in man-hours and server capacity
to deal with it. Worse, it damages the reputations of legitimate
businesses and sites whose email addresses have been stolen. The
spammers' incentive is simple: Money - big money. Most address theft
and bulk spam is automated. It is also illegal, conducted by criminal
spam gangs. There have been major prosecutions and convictions.
To learn more about this scourge, visit Spamhaus
which reports on and combats spam.
MEANWHILE,
at WAM, best-effort server level remedies are regularly instituted
to deal with spam abuses. While every effort is made by WAM to remedy
spam abuses, Winchester Arts Management accepts no liability for
inconvenience or damages of any kind resulting from unauthorized
third party mass mailings illicitly attributed to this site or sites
run by WAM, or arising from this spam alert notice. WAM does
not maintain any mailing lists for owners of sites created or hosted
by WAM. On-topic, client mailing lists maintained by individual
owners of sites hosted by WAM remain the responsibility of those
site owners.
